Scholarship

About SWEA NC

SWEA North Carolina is a non-profit organization established in 1997. In accordance with SWEA’s objectives and purposes, we have been awarding scholarships to merited individuals and organizations. SWEA supports education through scholarships for projects or studies with specific emphasis on Sweden or Swedish aspects.

Purpose of Scholarship

The goal of SWEA North Carolina Scholarship is to encourage, support, and raise awareness of the Swedish culture, traditions and language. SWEA North Carolina will award up to $1,000 depending on the durability and focus of the project. The recipient should be a well merited person, a non-profit organization or individual pursuing a specific project in or about Sweden, Swedish culture, traditions and language. Any qualified individual – regardless of gender, age, race, nationality, religion or ability to speak Swedish – is encouraged to apply. SWEA North Carolina reserves the right not to award the scholarship if no suitable candidates apply.

SWEA NC scholarship is awarded once per year for studies or special projects in Sweden, or, if in the States, with a purpose to attain greater knowledge about Sweden or Swedish culture or language. This is made possible thanks to funds raised at our annual Christmas Fair and other fundraisers throughout the year.
